China will step up the protection of intellectual property rights (IPR).

中国将加强对知识产权（IPR）的保护。  

China is speeding up its transformation from industrialization to informatization, said Shen Changyu, head of NIPA, at the 2019 High-level Forum on China IP Protection.

中国正在加快从工业化到信息化的转型，NIPA负责人沉长宇在2019年中国知识产权保护高层论坛上表示。

He said invisible assets such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and software are playing an increasingly important role during the transformation, and the importance of IPR protection was becoming increasingly prominent.

他说，专利，商标，版权，商业秘密和软件等无形资产在转型过程中发挥着越来越重要的作用，知识产权保护的重要性日益凸显。 

In order to enhance IPR protection, China will improve intellectual property laws and regulations, he said.

他说，为了加强知识产权保护，中国将改善知识产权法律法规。

Shen said China would make efforts to shorten the average time of trademark review to less than five months and cut the time of high-value patents review by more than 15 percent.

沉说，中国将努力将商标审查的平均时间缩短到不到五个月，并将高价值专利审查的时间缩短15％以上。

According to Shen, by the end of 2018 there were 1.62 million invention patents on the Chinese mainland, and 19.564 million effective trademarks registered.

据沉先生介绍，截至2018年底，中国大陆共发明专利162万件，注册有效商1956.4万件。 

The 2019 forum consists of one main forum and six thematic forums covering topics such as artificial intelligence, IPR protection and sports industry.

2019年论坛由一个主要论坛和六个主题论坛组成，涉及人工智能，知识产权保护和体育产业等主题。
